Welcome to "On the trail of the Buddha Tree"

This site acts as the home hub for information, contacts and resource links related to this exciting and extraordinary journey. It is, like the journey, a site that will unfold as each new step is taken and we encourage visitors to check back weekly for updates or to contact us for email updates and alerts. If you are a school then visit the learning site.

This project is made possible through the support of its audience and supporters. By working together we make the project a reality, and the journey and its stories can be brought to life for everyone.

We are inviting people to "plant a pledge" in support of the project. Organisations (schools, community groups etc) are being asked for a pledge of £150 and individuals for £25. To find out more about this download the project leaflet.

Planting a pledge can be done in one of 3 easy ways:

3. Request an invoice by email/post by contacting us with your details.

NOTE: We are using simple no-cost payment methods to ensure that pledges can be used for the project and not for administration costs and bank charges. Project monies are being handled by Lifeworlds Learning Community Interest Company, a limited company registered in England and Wales.

Plant a pledge

All pledges to this project will be used entirely in support of this project*. There are three main areas of cost:

The journey - the costs of Edward following the trail of the Buddha Tree, including flights, rail, road, boat, accomodation, food and guides.

The sharing - web updates, email alerts and learning support on a weekly basis.

The legacy^ - production of e-book, web gallery, public talks and school workshop/learning materials.

* all costs will be shared on this site for public transparency and open accounting of how pledges have been used. ^ some legacy options are additional offers and may involve additional costs for on-site delivery.
